Di dunia ini, kita sering menemukan berbagai kalimat-kalimat yang terlontar dari berbagai orang. Sering kali, kalimat-kalimat itulah disampaikan secara tidak sengaja, secara spontan, bahkan kehilangan konteks dari apa yang ingin disampaikan, dan dalam berbagai bahasa pun. Namun, ada suatu tempat dalam jaringan yang mengumpulkan berbagai kalimat-kalimat yang sering kali di luar nalar. Tempat itu dapat dikatakan sebagai the nonsense galaxy, atau, dalam bahasa Indonesia, galaksi luar nalar. Sebenarnya, galaksi itu memang sudah ada sejak awal dekade ini, dan itu hanya akan bertambah lebih besar dengan berjalannya waktu.

Dari awal, aku merupakan seseorang yang membantu galaksi tersebut untuk berkembang lebih lanjut dengan kontribusi kalimat-kalimat yang dariku selama bertahun-tahun. Walaupun dunia pada waktu itu dalam masa pandemi dan tidak ada siapa pun yang bisa pergi ke mana-mana, aku masih bisa menemukan kalimat-kalimat yang paling di luar nalar untuk diletakkan dalam galaksi tersebut. Aku hanyalah seorang kontributor yang sangat bermakna pada waktu itu, tetapi, sekarang… aku juga merupakan penerus galaksi tersebut, setelah penemu awalnya sudah mundur untuk fokus pada kreasi-kreasinya yang lain.

Awalnya, tidak semua orang bisa mengakses galaksi tersebut, dan seperti itu kondisinya selama beberapa tahun. Namun, dengan aku sebagai penerus galaksi tersebut, aku membuat akses ke galaksi tersebut lebih terbuka dari sebelumnya. Tempat yang sebelumnya hanya diketahui oleh teman-temanku dalam jaringan, sekarang dikenal oleh teman-temanku di dunia nyata. Itu pun setelah beberapa tahun sebelum bisa benar-benar ada di dunia nyata, jadi bukan hanya suatu hal dalam jaringan saja.

Walaupun para kontributor yang lain sudah mundur sejak akses galaksi tersebut ditutup untuk sementara oleh penemu awal, aku meneruskannya secara perlahan-lahan, seperti dahulu kala. Ada pun para kontributor baru dan lama yang ikut bergabung untuk memberikan kalimat-kalimat mereka yang layak untuk diletakkan. Itu baru tahun lalu; pada saat itu, ini merupakan proyek sampinganku. Sekarang, ini merupakan proyekku—bisa dikatakan proyekku yang paling besar—yang akan terus berlanjut untuk waktu yang akan mendatang.

Sejak itu, ada ekosistem meriah yang mengelilingi galaksi tersebut. Ekosistem yang ada pun memakai kalimat-kalimat di luar nalar dari galaksi tersebut. Entah dalam ekosistem itu merupakan situs web, aplikasi, atau bahkan riset… siapa tahu kalau ada kegunaan dari hal yang kelihatannya sepele, namun tetap berlanjut selama bertahun-tahun? Yang aku lakukan saat ini adalah melakukan berbagai hal serius, tetapi dilakukan pada sesuatu yang sama sekali tidak serius; itu pun sebagai proyek pula. Bagi kebanyakan orang, kalimat-kalimat yang di luar nalar yang ada dalam galaksi tersebut itu pasti akan membuat mereka tertawa, bingung, atau kaget… ya, ada berbagai emosi-emosi yang seperti itu. Kemungkinan mereka tidak akan menanyakan mengapa hal tersebut itu ada, dan memang wajar untuk sesuatu yang konyol pada intinya.

Ada orang baru yang bergabung dalam galaksi luar nalar. Ia bergabung untuk mewakili temannya, yang sebelumnya merupakan kontributor. Waktu aku menghubungi kontributor tersebut untuk bergabung dalam galaksi yang sekarang aku kelola, ia mengatakan kepadaku bahwa ia tidak ingin dihubungi lagi oleh orang-orang yang ada di sana secara langsung supaya ia bisa fokus dalam dunia nyata. Aku berpikir bahwa itu dapat dimengerti; ia mengajak temannya yang baru saja bergabung dalam galaksi tersebut.

Selama orang tersebut ada dalam galaksi, ia berkontribusi kalimat-kalimat luar nalar seperti biasanya, tetapi tidak seaktif para kontributor yang lain. Ia hanya berkontribusi pada waktu luang. Namun, dengan berjalannya waktu, ia mengatakan sesuatu yang orang lain tidak pernah mengatakan: ia berpikir bahwa kalimat-kalimat yang ada dalam galaksi tersebut “mid” dan “ts so stale bruv” dilanjutkan dengan “like the most shallow content ever omfg”—pada intinya, kalimat-kalimatnya itu, menurut dia, tidak memiliki makna.

Lah, justru kebanyakan kalimat-kalimat tersebut memang tidak ada makna secara intrinsik. Itu bukan apa yang dimaksud. Setiap kalimat itu pasti ada maksudnya, hanya saja tidak disampaikan secara langsung. Setiap kalimat pasti ada sumbernya, bahkan kalau sumbernya itu dari kontributornya sendiri. Ada makna yang mendalam, tetapi tidak ada kalau dilihat secara semata.

Waktu ia menyampaikan hal-hal tersebut, waktu itu masih… jam dua pagi. Tentu saja aku masih tertidur. Orang-orang lain yang merupakan kontributor mengingatkan dia, “Kamu di sini itu buat menulis hal-hal random di #nonsense, bukan untuk merusak suasana seperti ‘oohhhhh tambahkan sistem penilaian kualitas karena nonsense ini tuh mid’”. Pada akhirnya, waktu aku bangun jam sembilan pagi, aku hanya mengatakan bahwa kalimat-kalimat yang ada dalam galaksi tersebut itu tidak perlu dibaca oleh semua orang.

Intinya, kita membuat dataset dari basis data yang ada dalam galaksi. Masih ingat tentang ekosistem dari awal? Itu merupakan tujuan akhirnya, supaya orang-orang lain bisa memakai dataset yang berisi kalimat-kalimat luar nalar. Awalnya kita tidak tahu apa kegunaannya sekadar mengumpulkan kalimat-kalimat yang aneh dan lucu soalnya kita mau-mau saja; ternyata, sekarang jelas apa kegunaannya, walaupun tidak semata. Basis data (dataset) dari galaksi luar nalar itu awalnya tertutup, bahkan yang aslinya hampir kehilangan oleh waktu, sekarang menjadi basis data yang terbuka supaya semua orang bisa mengaksesnya.

Waktu itu, aku masih memikirkan apa yang telah aku lakukan dengan hal yang seperti ini. Mau merasa senang, sedih, marah, kebingungan, ataupun kosong… memang seperti itu ketika melakukan berbagai hal yang sebenarnya terkesan serius, hanya saja hal yang diterapkan sama sekali tidak serius. Beberapa menit kemudian, ada entri baru yang ditambahkan. Aku tetap mengembangkan ekosistem sekitar galaksi tersebut seperti biasanya. Hal-hal yang aku lakukan saat ini masih dapat dikatakan serius, tetapi, sekali lagi, pada sesuatu yang memang saja tidak serius.
