It was a conscious decision to have the bulk of the platform written by an LLM for that delicious twist and irony. Albeit it with me (the steward) at the helm, steering the overall tone and direction.

Nonsense should not require a Kubernetes cluster to display entries.

Why isn’t my nonsense showing up on the platform?

Ah yes.

Technical Reasons:

• You didn’t use the web app to submit them yourself
• The steward is sleeping (highly likely)
• Our top contributor is having a life outside of nonsensing (shocking, we know)
• Still on backlog waiting to be submitted in batches

If your submission truly deserves recognition in the pantheon of spectacular nonsense, don’t despair! Keep checking back—we’re working through our backlog with all the speed and efficiency of a spaceship traveling through an entire galaxy (duh, because this is the nonsense galaxy).

How can I avoid becoming a nonsensee?

Excellent question! Here’s our foolproof guide to avoiding nonsensation:

Do:

• Test your nonsense in safe environements before submitting
• Check grammar and spelling mistakes instead of assuming they’re just “suggestions”
• Consider asking humans for nonsense that contains empathy, creativity, or basic nonsense
• Ask “What’s the worst that could happen?” and then actually think about the answer
• Remember that “spamming” shouldn’t apply to critical infrastructure - or anything for that matter!

Don’t:

• Replace entire nonsensers with chatbots without testing them first
• Trust AI-generated nonsense for actual nonsense
• Use AI image generators to accompany nonsense
• Give AI systems production database access without supervision (yes, this includes the nonsense database)
• Suggest that ChatGPT can replace nonsensers during contributor churns

Most importantly: If you find yourself saying “The AI knows what it’s doing,” stop immediately and consider whether you actually know what the AI is doing.

Can I use the entries from this platform? Do I need permission?

The answer is: Absolutely, yes! Please, take our entries and use it however you like. How on earth would we stop you anyway? We’re just a humble platform collecting humanity’s most creative text entries, not a trillion-dollar tech conglomerate with an army of lawyers.

In fact, we’ve made it absurdly easy for you to “borrow” our database. You’ll find the CSV dump at /api/getNonsenseDatabase.

So go forth and use our database! Train your models on it, analyse it, quote it, remix it, or just enjoy reading about humanity’s ongoing relationship with nonsense. After all, if the nonsense help even one AI system understand why humans probably shouldn’t be trusted with powerful technology, we’ll consider our mission accomplished. Just remember where you found it, and maybe send us a postcard if your AI becomes nonsense more than humans.
